OCA is sponsored by the Oyster Community Council as a non-profit service to meet the needs of working parents. The program provides an opportunity for children to interact with each other in a friendly environment. We promote social growth through play because it motivates them to solve problems. Adults also provide opportunities for children to learn from their own actions and observations. It's through play that children come to terms with those realities.
We enroll Oyster school students from pre-k to 7th grades; all from a wide variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. Approximately 125 children are accepted each year on a first come first served basis beginning June. Scholarships are available and applications will be taken mid June. Applications for financial aid are kept confidential.
