Tuesday, September 12 is Primary Election for DC Voters. As a result:
The 0CC will be selling baked goods and coffee to voters If you have not yet filled out your slip for a donation baked goods and/or hot foods (from last week's Friday Folders) please contact Serena Wiltshire to tell her how you can help at: Wiltshirestarpower.net or tel: 202-249-8327. The Gymnasium will be used for voting. During morning arrival students, Pre-K and Kindergarten children and their parents should wait in the hallway outside their classroom on Tuesday morning instead of the gymnasium. All physical education classes will take place on the playground.
Wednesday, September 13 Sports4Kids will hold a training session for parents to learn games with an emphasis on character building. Other schools that have participated have reported a drop in playground issues and a decrease in bullying, as well as an impact on academic achievement after lunch.
Thursday, September 14 at 6:00 is Back to School Night for 4th-6th graders. All parents are invited to come and learn about their child's classroom, curriculum and homework. Please note childcare will be provided.
The Hispanic Heritage Committee encourages all our fun-loving and energetic families (not just the Latino families!) to attend our first annual meeting next Friday September 15 stating at 6:15pm. The main topic will be :The upcoming Hispanic Heritage month celebration and other fun ideas. There will be childcare. We will serve pizza.
Summer reading book reports will be due on September 15 th.
