Amigos de Oyster-Adams Annual Giving Campaign
Dear Oyster-Adams Families,
It's that time of the year again - when we ask you to open your hearts and your wallets in support of Oyster-Adams. Thank you to those families that have made their contribution already! In the next few weeks, over 50 parent volunteers will be making calls to all Oyster-Adams families, seeking support for the campaign. If you give by December 9th, you will be entered in a drawing to win a Nintendo Wii. All gifts to the Amigos de Oyster-Adams Annual Giving Campaign are important! Your family contribution helps us to leverage additional grant funding, as foundations increasingly require evidence of strong parent support when considering their grant awards. In addition, your gift helps us pay for all the "extras" that our children receive - extras that set us apart from other DCPS schools, e.g.:
- a music teacher, math and science specialists - an unsurpassed arts program - two well-stocked bilingual libraries - tutoring, field trips, cultural assemblies, celebrations, and so much more.

Expansion of Our School - Expansion of Our Mission
The Oyster Bilingual School has a rich history of providing more than thirty-five years of quality bilingual education to diverse populations of youth in the District of Columbia. With the expansion of our program to a full K-8 model and the new upper campus at Adams, it is appropriate to revisit our educational mission and the values that will guide it.
Redefining our mission is a community process that will incorporate ideas from teachers, parents and other stakeholders. Since we are an established school and have already developed different mission statements over the years, we will review and revise those ideas to reflect our current realities.
